Establishes rules and procedures to protect whistleblowers, defined as individuals who report information they acquired in a work-related context on breaches of EU law in key policy areas, including animal health and welfare. Breaches include both unlawful acts or omissions and abusive practices.
Weaknesses
Only provides general rules that the EU Member States should transport in national law.
